Meanwhile, the Jury is still deliberating over which of the 20 Finalist films to award cash prizes to. All five winners will have their submissions screened at the Sundance Film Festival in front of an audience, but only one will walk away with the grand prize of $100,000. Response to the Competition documentaries has been overwhelming, with one of our Finalists already experiencing a taste of viral success. (That would be Callum Cooper’s “The Mine Kafon,” recently featured at CNN, Current TV, The Atlantic.com, BoingBoing, and elsewhere.) Stay tuned, as we will officially announce the winners on January 22nd live from Sundance.
