Today at the Tribeca Film Festival Focus Forward officially announced the opening of submissions for the "Filmmaker Challenge.”

With the chance to win up to $100,000 cash, this is the biggest challenge of its kind. Winning films will be distributed globally alongside Focus Forward films made by Steve James, Jessica Yu, Nelson George, Lucy Walker, and other award-winning filmmakers.

The best of submitted films will be shown at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah (January 2013), where prizes will be awarded.
